Important changes to the Queensland Development Code for Flood Stop Safety Valves
Section A5(2)(e) (iii)
Where a floor waste is installed –
flexible hose assemblies used for the connection of fixtures contained in the wet area must be fitted with flood stop safety valves approved under WMTS-479.

This patented flood stop valve system cuts off the water supply when it detects an increase in water flow caused by the failure of an old or faulty hose. Water flow is cut right away, preventing damage to the home or unit.
If the system is activated, it’s simple to reset after fixing the hose. Turn the valve off till you hear the reset click, and simply turn back on slowly till the water refills the lines. It doesn’t get any easier!

If the valve detects an increase in water flow, the stop valve is activated immediately, shutting off the water flow to the burst hose.
Once the hose has been repaired the valve can be reset. It’s a simple procedure of turning the valve off until you hear the reset click, then slowly turning it on to let water back into the pipe.
